“Sharing the Buzz for Books”
Welcome to Busy Bee Books!
I joined Usborne Books at Home in January 2009. At the time, I was a full-time, hard-working Early Years teacher. My friend introduced me to the opportunity as a way of making new friends and having something for myself away from my busy life as a teacher.
Almost ten years later, I continue to love selling these beautiful, award-winning books and my initial hobby has turned into much more!
I enjoy the variety and flexibility of being an Usborne Organiser, having complete control over where, when and how much I work. This means that I am able to work around other interests and commitments, including running, baking and offering one-to-one tuition to young children.
Whether it be at Home Parties, Toddler Groups, Baby Shows, Charity and other events or schools, I particularly love offering advice to my customers and helping children to find their own special books. There’s nothing better than seeing a child’s reaction when they find that perfect title!
For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of being an Usborne Organiser, is the ability to ‘make a difference,’ whether that be by helping schools to benefit from free books, having an impact on children’s Literacy, love of books and learning or supporting team members and fellow colleagues to write a better story for their families.
Over the years, I have indeed made many new friends, but this opportunity has given me so much more; work-life balance, increased self-confidence, recognition (through awards and company events) and an enhanced lifestyle.
I now belong to a large Division of Usborne Organisers, all running their businesses in their own way. It’s fantastic to be part of a team of people who are all passionate about Usborne books, who are there to offer regular training, mutual support, advice and a listening ear.
