A Celebration of 2018

Last Friday we dusted off our glad rags, put on our party hats and had a wonderful day marvelling at all of the incredible things achieved by our Organisers in 2018.
Our Organisers inspire us on a daily basis with their infectious enthusiasm, boundless passion and tireless efforts to share our fantastic books and make a real difference to literary and learning. We are always eager to recognise and reward their achievements - our #CelebrateUsborne event was designed to do just that!
Kicking off at 11am, our Managing Director Mark Franklin and Leadership and Business Development Manager Sue Pittman began by looking at the year in review, before launching into announcing the Winners and Finalists of our 2018 Achievement Awards, which celebrate the successes of our top Sellers, Mentors and Leaders. The top three in each of these categories will be whisked way to London in February for a money-can't-buy experience at Usborne Publishing, culminating in a luxury dining experience at The Ritz where they'll be joined with none other than our founder, Peter Usborne M.B.E.. As you can imagine, we couldn't wait to reveal the deserving winners!
And, as if that wasn't enough excitement for one day, our fabulous #CelebrateUsborne event was wrapped up with the announcement of the Winners of our ultimate prize...the 2019 Travel Incentive trip to Helsinki and St Petersburg!
So, just in case you couldn't join the party, here's a round-up of an exciting day of celebrations:
With over a million books sold, 24% sales growth and 6,000 new Organisers, it's been a phenomenal year! Our Organisers excel at both sharing our books with communities and customers, and sharing the business opportunity with others - the fact that over 1,300 of our new Organisers achieved Kit Boost, almost 900 achieved Kit Refund, 135 achieved our Recruiter's Reward, and 59 achieved Double Promotion (all within the first 12 weeks!) is testament to the incredible community who are continually building relationships and having those important conversations.
Our Usborne Organisers are also in a unique position in being able to offer free books to their customers and their schools: in addition to the million books sold in 2018, our Organisers gave 320,000 free books away, lining the shelves of school libraries with restricted budgets. 2018 was also our fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth. What a year!
The first of our Achievement Awards (running from January to December), our Sales Awards recognises our Organisers' hard work in building long-standing relationships with their customers and schools.
Our Top Organiser for 2018 is Zoë Vobořilová, with Sandy Wild in second place and Rhi Thompson in third. A huge congratulations to you all!
Our Top New Organiser for 2018 is Lauren Prentice, with Alexandra Yilmaz in second place and Nakov Sashko in third. Congratulations on your amazing achievements!
Our Recruiting Awards recognise Organisers who have not only shared the Usborne opportunity with others, but mentored their new recruits to success.
Our Top Recruiter for 2018 is Zoë Vobořilová, with Sarah Higgs in second place and Kerry Edwards in third.
Our Top New Recruiter for 2018 is Kirsty Green, with Martha Eniko in second place and Danielle Johnson in third.
Congratulations, and thank you for taking the time to share your passion with others and being such a valued part of our community.
Our Leadership Awards celebrate Organisers who are of Team Leader status or above, who, as well as recruiting others into their business, have supported and mentored their new recruits to really make the most of the opportunities offered to them throughout their Usborne journey. The criteria for this award is calculated using these New Organisers' personal sales.
Our Top Leader for 2018 is Zoë Vobořilová, with Sarah Higgs in second place and Emma Devine in third.
Our Top New Leader for 2018 is Alison Faulker-Luke, with Vanessa Marsh in second place and Norbert Miskolczi in third.
Congratulations to all, and thank you for sharing our wonderful books, sharing the opportunity with others and making people feel valued - all qualities of an outstanding Leader!
