An update on deliveries - w/c Monday 25th May 2020
The ongoing situation regarding Covid-19 has seen demand for books and home learning materials soar as we continue to adjust to lockdown conditions and school closures.
Our warehouse is working as hard as ever to process this marked increase in demand, however it may be the case that your deliveries take a little longer than usual to reach you.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience these delays may cause, and offer our reassurance that the Usborne Books at Home community remains committed to helping you in any way we can as you look for the very best books to spark your children's curiosity.

I hope you and your families are keeping safe and well and send you my very best during this difficult time. We know that it is very challenging as we worry about loved ones, have our children home from school, and adapt to life under isolation restrictions.
I wanted to offer reassurance that, should you be looking for materials to educate and occupy your children, as your local Independent Usborne Organiser, I am still here to help in any way I can. Be it advice on the most appropriate books for your family or students, recommendations for safe and carefully-curated content for home learning (or to complement homework set by school) or fun activities and things to do – whatever you need, I am still able to provide personalised support to you and your family.
Can I still order books from you?
You can indeed, either from this website or you might prefer to contact me directly. I am able to provide more advice with your buying choices and might also be able to offer special offers and additional postage discounts not available from my website. Please note: there are some temporary restrictions for delivery destinations (notably Northern Italy) – I recommend that you check with your local Government guidance or contact me first, before placing your order.
Can I still book an event with you?
Following the latest Government advice related to social gatherings, I am not currently able to run face-to-face events in your home, school or community groups. I can, however, facilitate online events (Facebook parties, "House Party" gatherings, etc.), if you would like to add a fun, social element to your book-buying experience.
Is your delivery service affected by the pandemic?
Due to overwhelming demand, we are seeing delivery times take a little longer than usual. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Our warehouse is following all the guidance set out by Public Health England (PHE) and the UK Government, and its overall service continues to operate safely and without interruption. Additional cleaning routines have been implemented as well as other protocols to ensure the safety of all warehouse staff.
Our courier partners are also following all relevant guidance pertaining to social-distancing and sanitisation whilst delivering goods. Your delivery driver should ring your doorbell to notify that your parcel has arrived and then step back to minimise any contact. You should not need to sign for your delivery at this time.
Please note: our head office team are working continuously with these partners to maintain delivery service – should anything change or should guidance from the Government mean that we can no longer offer deliveries, I will update on this blog accordingly.
Is it safe to receive deliveries at home?
Yes, current advice from PHE states that anyone receiving a parcel is not at risk of contracting Covid-19. It is understood that this type of virus doesn't survive for long on objects such as letters or parcels. It is also recommended (notably by the NHS in the UK) that people wash their hands more regularly with soap and water to further reduce any risk.
I was thinking of becoming an Organiser – should I wait?
The decision is, of course, one that only you can make. Please be assured though that, as your Mentor, I will be on-hand to support you just as before. Do get in touch if you have any questions.
