A celebration of continuing success

Every season we invite our most consistent and successful Organisers to a fabulous Leadership Academy event - a heady mix of business development, coaching, inspiration and also recognition and celebration.

This October was no different as more than 60 Gold, Silver and Bronze Business Development Programme Members joined us at the imposing Heythrop Park Resort, near Oxford for two business-stretching days.

Usborne's own Leadership Development team delivered a thought-provoking and challenging agenda; asking our attendees to immerse themselves fully in their Usborne world for those two days. Attendees were asked to acknowledge the many wonderful strengths they have already brought to their businesses, explore new ways to move forward - perhaps through employing effective processes or focusing on time management. Our Organisers worked together to identify similar challenges and find ways to move past historic "roadblocks".


Maybe it sounds pretty heavy-going? Understanding and appreciating the value of yourself and your business takes real confidence and, at Usborne Books at Home, our objective for these events is to help unlock that confidence.

Downtime and a chance to relax

Plus it's not all "work, work, work". Fine dining - good food and good company and plenty of downtime to enjoy the facilities - a lazy walk in around the manicured grounds, a visit to the spa (some people even found the bar!).




Two main highlights from our time together were the continuing support and challenge from the amazing Art of Brilliance - Kev House taught us a lot about grit and resilience. The fiercest critic we each face is always the voice in our own head and learning to get past that "inner chimp" takes real skill and determination.


But the universally-agreed high point for all was the launch of a hugely important new series of books, presented by Usborne Managing Editor Sam Taplin. What are they? Well, you had to be in the room as it is still top, top secret (although page 60 of the 2019 catalogue does reveal all ;-) Don't worry though; we have an awful lot more excitement around this launch to share with ALL Organisers in the New Year.
